St Paul's Lutheran Church has a history of growth and service to the Gaffney community. The church began life as a mission church start in 1964, and was officially chartered in March of 1971. Since then the church has seen seasons of growth that took it from a small site in downtown Gaffney, to the current site near interstate 85. As the town has grown, so has the church.
St Paul's has always had a heart for family and mission. Over the years the church has actively been involved in the community as partners with Limestone University, helping with the Billy Graham crusade, and the church's annual Oyster Roast that brings out many folks from the community. Countless area youth have seen their faith grow through the youth group "Fusion", along with valuable instruction in the church's confirmation classes. Our Lutheran Children's Church, led by Jenna Kite, works with our children and families to bring about spiritual development through weekly children's church and other activities. Often we partner with other area churches to bring about an even more in-depth experience for our children.
At St Paul's we believe in giving back to our community, and devote a substantial amount of our financial giving and volunteer time to local ministries. We support the work of Meals on Wheels, WinShape Camps Gaffney, the Jerusalem Project, Habor of Hope, PeachCenter Ministries, Iron City Ministries, and the Salvation Army. We also support regional and nation ministries such as Operation Christmas Child, LCMC, LCMC Men, and W.VA. coal field missions.
We have dedicated our time in this community to share the Word of Christ, in everything we say and everything we do. Our family would welcome you to come worship with us, and find your place to help spread the message of love and hope in Jesus Christ in Gaffney, today and for many years to come.
May the peace of Christ be with you always.
