Strong in Faith - Acts 3:1-16

"By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see." Acts 3:16

It was just an ordinary day, like all the ones before. At the regular time of prayer, they placed the disabled man at the temple doors, just like they did everyday. And like everyday before those that passed by dropped what they could, or what they felt that they were able, to the man that lay in front of the temple. But on this day, Peter and John, disciples of Christ, were coming into the temple to pray. Seeing the man in need, they had compassion on him. Not in the way that others had who had passed by, busy with their own schedule and worries and things to do. No, Peter and John knew the power of Christ in their own life, and seeing a man hurting and in need of hope, they share with him the power of Christ, the word of forgiveness, the message of eternal life.

Through the power of the Word of Christ, this man believed in Jesus, and God moved to heal him. And though the lame man did receive the power to walk again, he received something much more important - the love of Christ. When Christ moved in this man's life, it brought healing and strength - and ultimately glory to Christ. When we stop to share the love of Christ with another person, it changes that person's life, and those around them are forever changed as well. How can we share the power of faith with others today, to witness the power of Christ in others?
